Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technician.

After completing the programme, students will have knowledge of: 1. The refrigeration process, refrigeration systems and related components. 2. Refrigeration and electrical terminology in Swedish and English. 3. Refrigerants used in the industry. 4. Pressure testing, leak detection and periodic inspections, and reporting to the relevant authority. 5. Electrical systems found in refrigeration systems, and relevant control and regulation systems. 6. Applicable work environment and safety regulations for refrigerants, and for electrical safety. 7. The EU's applicable F-gas Regulation. 8. Applicable regulations for personal refrigeration certification. 9. Heating systems. 10. Energy saving and energy efficiency, and industry-related environmental and quality issues. 11. Project management and project methodology. 12. Report writing. 13. Good business practice and good customer relations. 14. Basic building physics. 15. Brazing. 16. Control and regulation technology. After completing the programme, students will have the skills to: 1. Independently carry out troubleshooting based on an understanding of how control and electrical equipment works, using its drawings and diagrams. 2. Independently install a refrigeration and heat pump system and calculate cooling and heating demand. 3. Independently apply knowledge of energy saving and energy efficiency when installing and maintaining refrigeration and heat pump installations. 4. When meeting customers, handle business-related questions in a way that adds value for both the customer and their own company. 5. Together with the customer, give advice on product choice, scope and service agreements. 6. Communicate solutions and commitments in the industry in both Swedish and English. After completing the programme, students will have the competence to: 1. Take personal refrigeration certification under the applicable regulations. 2. Independently solve common tasks in the maintenance and installation of refrigeration and heat pump systems. 3. When troubleshooting, independently propose and justify the action and method to correct faults. 4. Independently identify, plan, analyse and commission different refrigeration and heat pump units. 5. Assess and justify the most advantageous options when choosing system solutions based on environmental, accessibility, service and operational reliability aspects. 6. Independently plan for, analyse needs for and implement renewable energy solutions. 7. Independently understand and apply the legislation that applies in the industry. 8. Communicate with customers from a business perspective, taking into account aspects such as upselling, customer benefit, and ethical and moral business practice. 9. Environmental issues linked to refrigeration and heat pump installations. 10. Be able to take personal refrigeration certification under the applicable regulations.
