Part of the YH programme Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technician at TUC Yrkeshögskola. This course cannot be applied for on its own. Programme code: KYLD24TRA.

The course builds on the knowledge from Kylprocessen (The Refrigeration Process) and takes you deeper into more advanced refrigeration and heat pump systems. You gain insight into how the secondary sides of an indirect refrigeration and heat pump system are built, how they interact and affect the refrigeration process, and you learn about different heat transfer fluids, energy storage, energy saving and energy efficiency. The course also covers natural refrigerants, noise and vibration in depth, and how a heating curve works and is optimised.

Duration: 10 weeks
Language: Swedish
Level: Advanced
CSN-eligible

Time commitment: Equivalent to about 10 weeks of full-time study

About the course.

In the course Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology, students build on their knowledge from the earlier course Kylprocessen (The Refrigeration Process) to deepen and further develop their knowledge of various more advanced refrigeration and heat pump systems, to prepare further for the professional role. Students gain in-depth insight into how the secondary sides of an indirect refrigeration and heat pump system in an installation are built, how they interact with each other and how they affect the refrigeration process. The course introduces different heat transfer fluids and gives insight into energy storage, energy saving and energy efficiency in a refrigeration and heat pump system. The course also includes in-depth study of natural refrigerants, which are becoming much more common in the industry. Students will gain an understanding of how noise and vibration arise, how they are measured and how they can be minimised and, when needed, reduced. The course also explains how a heating curve works, how it is set and how it is optimised.
