Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technician.

After completing the programme, students will have knowledge of: Specialised knowledge of the refrigeration process, refrigeration systems, refrigerants, heating systems and related components. Specialised knowledge of theoretical and practical refrigeration and heat pump work in the professional role of refrigeration and heat pump technician. Knowledge and an overview of areas bordering on their own field, such as building physics, pressure testing, brazing, leak detection and electrical work found in refrigeration and heating systems, as well as control and regulation systems. Knowledge of work processes and quality criteria under the applicable regulations for personal refrigeration certification. Knowledge of work environment regulations and of safety regulations and rules relevant to the professional role. Knowledge of energy saving and energy efficiency linked to Agenda 2030. After completing the programme, students will have the skills to: Plan, carry out and identify resources for specialised tasks in the refrigeration and heat pump field. Solve complex problems in energy saving and energy efficiency when installing and maintaining refrigeration and heat pump installations. Communicate commitments and solutions in the field in Swedish and English and, when meeting customers, handle and advise on work-related questions in a way that adds value for both the customer and their own company. Install a refrigeration and heat pump system and calculate cooling and heating demand. Carry out troubleshooting based on how control and electrical equipment works, with the help of drawings and diagrams. After completing the programme, students will have the competence to: Independently handle theoretical and practical tasks in the maintenance and installation of refrigeration and heat pump systems in a way that leads to further learning and professional development in the role. Monitor, assess and justify the most advantageous options when choosing system solutions based on environmental, energy, economic, accessibility, service and operational reliability aspects linked to Agenda 2030, and complete assigned projects in the professional role of refrigeration and heat pump technician. Take personal refrigeration certification under the applicable regulations and legislation.
