About the course.

This course teaches you to calculate how sustainability work affects the business and profitability. The aim of the course is to give you the skills to produce decision material for company initiatives where sustainability and commercial sense go hand in hand. During the day we go through, among other things, a step-by-step method for calculating how different types of sustainability projects affect the company's profitability directly and indirectly.

Sustainable development is a fateful question for humanity and is becoming increasingly strategically important for companies in all industries. Many are convinced that investments in the environment, climate and social responsibility are in most cases good for business. At the same time, an uncertain world forces many companies to prioritise short-term profitability over sustainability projects that are important in the long term. This course aims to teach you how to turn a sustainability project into business value and how much the project actually contributes to increased profitability and cash flow. During the day we go through a step-by-step method for calculating the company's profitability in a sustainability project. The starting point is the established methodology for how investments are traditionally assessed financially, but applied to the sustainability field. COURSE OBJECTIVES To give the participant: - Tools for translating sustainability work into business value - An understanding of how a company's management values sustainability work - A model for arguing the business case for sustainability work
