Who has the right to see a patient record? Are you allowed to look at "how things went" for a patient after a completed episode of care? What information must I disclose about a patient if the police call? Health care is surrounded by an extensive and, in some parts, complicated and detailed set of rules. This course, aimed at doctors as well as other healthcare staff, is about giving you knowledge of the legislation and regulations that govern your daily work. Among other things we go through the Patient Act's requirements on information and consent, how to act if the patient lacks decision-making capacity, in which cases a child has the right to make decisions, when you have a duty to report and when secrecy and confidentiality apply.
