Course PC20 Leadership.

The purpose of the course is to give students the prerequisites to lead the work on a building or civil engineering project and the work teams and individuals involved in the project. The goal of the course is that students will be able to apply skills to take responsibility for individuals' development and performance on the construction site. Students should also be able to adapt their leadership towards individuals and groups in line with a company's values and counter destructive social constructions. The approved student has knowledge of - Performance reviews - Meeting technique with work teams and employees - Conflict management - Social constructions and norms in the workplace and how they affect the work environment - Diversity and gender equality - A site manager's staff responsibility - Various factors underlying effective leadership and communication - Factors underlying the successful creation of work teams - Relevant agreements on contract and employment law (byggavtalet, LAS, MBL) - How communication affects effective leadership The approved student has the skills to - Lead work teams and individuals towards set goals in building and civil engineering production - Manage relationships with colleagues with regard to gender equality and diversity issues - Counter destructive social constructions and norms in the workplace - Apply negotiation methods in different negotiation situations - Conduct performance reviews - Be able to justify and explain decisions made - Put together effective work teams - Hold difficult conversations with employees and other actors on the construction project The approved student has the competence to - In the professional role of site manager, take responsibility for ensuring that all individuals and work teams on the construction site carry out their tasks - Motivate work teams and individuals to work towards set goals - Maintain a good working climate in the workplace through preventive leadership
