Course BHB20 Project Finance.

Purpose: The purpose of the course is for the student to understand the relationship between the builder and the client for sound project finances, and to be able to carry out cost estimation and purchasing in construction projects. Goal: The goal of the course is for students to have sufficient knowledge of project finance and cost estimation to be able to price jobs, make rough cost estimates and prepare tender documentation, order purchases and monitor deliveries. The approved student has knowledge of - Financial sustainability and its impact on the design of a project - Life cycle analyses - Quantity calculation and cost estimation - How the production estimate is used as support in direct production - Environmental cost estimation: meaning and areas of use - Project finance - Purchasing for construction projects - Construction-relevant key figures - Budget price, ceiling price and fixed price - Forecasts in construction projects The approved student has the skills to - Carry out quantity take-offs - Select, calculate and present in reports suitable key figures to summarize the finances of a property - Set up a cost estimate for a construction project using digital estimating software - Make rough cost estimates and produce other documents as a basis for tenders - Interpret forecasts and forecast summaries - Produce a budget price and explain the differences between budget price, ceiling price and fixed price The approved student has the competence to - Coordinate the various work efforts required to order and review purchases
