Course WEBB19 Backend programming 2.

The course gives students in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of secure development in NodeJS and of how applications can be connected to different services and cloud solutions. The course also gives in-depth knowledge of deploying NodeJS applications on different platforms and against different web servers. Students learn to evaluate and choose a suitable database for different cloud solutions, as well as how ExpressJS is used and how it organises a web application. In addition, students will build a complete solution with a frontend for a backend solution. They also learn to create unit tests in code. The goal is that after the course students will be able to work more independently as full-stack programmers and make their own decisions about their projects. They also gain a deeper understanding of and competence in agile project methodology. The approved student has knowledge of - More complex development in NodeJS taking into account security aspects and GDPR, among other things - Programming against a cloud solution - Suitable databases for different cloud solutions - Setting up a development environment and programming against different web servers - Setting up production environments and the considerations needed for different solutions and security aspects - How ExpressJS is used to organise a web application - How a backend solution interacts with the frontend - In-depth knowledge of agile project methodology - How unit tests are created and run via different tools The approved student has the skills to - Carry out more complex web development in NodeJS taking into account security aspects and GDPR, among other things - Set up a development environment and program against different web servers - Set up different production environments taking into account different solutions and security aspects - Use ExpressJS to organise a web application - Integrate a backend solution with a frontend interface - Work according to an agile project model - Create unit tests and run them via a tool The approved student has the competence to - Set up a production environment and develop complex, optimised and secure web applications in NodeJS and ExpressJS that integrate with the frontend and communicate with relevant databases. The applications should be publishable on an external web server. This should also include automatic unit tests that can be run at different times. - Work in a project group according to an agile development model and estimate the time for the work
