About the course.

The course gives students applicable knowledge in the design of electricity distribution installations. Students are given the skills to carry out calculations, preparation and cost estimation, and to use the design tool EBR as a basis for design choices and sizing. The course also covers aspects such as planning, documentation, the environment, energy efficiency and installation safety in electrical installations. In addition, the student is given knowledge of investigation and the preparatory work that precedes installation. After the course, the student should be able to solve problems and common tasks in design work. The course is carried out in such a way that the students practically carry out the steps with supervision. The approved student has knowledge of - The different project phases in electricity distribution projects - Design of electricity distribution networks: cable and overhead lines. - Design of electricity distribution installations: power transformers, switchgear. - Production of various documents, such as tender documents, construction documents and as-built documents The approved student has the skills to - Carry out preparation: verify routes, obtain permits, select materials, for example through EBR's cost catalog - Carry out cost estimates for electricity distribution networks and electrical installations according to EBR's cost catalog - Take installation safety and the work environment into account in the design phase - Size electrical installations and electricity networks through calculations, for example short-circuit currents and earth fault currents The approved student has the competence to - Carry out investigation and planning prior to the implementation of electricity distribution projects - Develop technical solutions based on functional requirements and document their work - Independently solve problems and common tasks in design work
