Course Järnväg20 Maintenance technology 1.

The purpose of the course is to give knowledge of resource needs, productivity and production costs for a number of tasks (cost estimation of different maintenance activities). The relationship between productivity and traffic interruption times is covered, as are the principles for speed restrictions during work. The course also covers the principles of reliability and component service life and gives the student knowledge of the "Life-Cycle-Cost perspective", that is, the cost model intended to reflect a "total" cost for an investment, a product or a system alternative. In addition, the impact on punctuality of deficient functions in the installation, delay statistics and more are covered. The goal of the course is to give the student knowledge of the purpose of railway-related maintenance, of time-dependent and wear-dependent maintenance and of different theories on how this maintenance should be carried out.
