Course Järnväg20 Construction contract law and procurement.

The purpose of the course is to give the student knowledge of the legislation that applies to the procurement of railway construction contracts. The goal of the course is to give the student knowledge of how purchasing and procurement are carried out in business, so that a procurement can be done correctly. Furthermore, the student will gain knowledge of the legal documents and standards that apply in railway production and know the order of priority of construction documents in contracting work. The approved student has knowledge of - general contract law: how to enter into agreements that are binding on both parties - the procurement process for new and reinvestment works as well as operation and maintenance - knowledge of the structure of the AMA system - The construction industry's standard legal documents for design and construction: AB04, ABT06, ABK09 - rules governing the contractor's obligations: scope and calculation rules, execution, schedules and the division of responsibility between contractor and client - Contracts and their component parts The approved student has the skills to - produce tender documentation and draw up cost estimates - search for and interpret information in relevant laws and regulations - apply the standard contracts when procuring construction contracts - create invitation-to-tender documents for procurement - respond to invitations to tender in procurement The approved student has the competence to - based on procurement documents, draw conclusions and discuss different purchasing decisions. - Produce estimates in accordance with the applicable procurement, plan the work and quality-assure them.
