After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge of/in: - the steps of the purchasing process when establishing relationships with suppliers, and understand the connections and links to the rest of the company's operations. - IT tools that a purchaser and logistician may encounter, and be able to use the tools effectively in their work, e.g. using information technology to search for, compile and evaluate information as a basis for decisions in their work. - the connection between the professional role and the development of a sustainable society - the importance of purchasing for the company's profitability - laws and regulations governing public procurement - laws such as contract law, Köplagen (the Sale of Goods Act), transport law - project management - the importance of logistics in the supply chain and its impact on profitability - business negotiation and an ethical business approach After completing the programme, the student shall have the skills to: - work with operational and tactical purchasing and logistics issues such as supplier assessments, material call-offs, purchasing calculations, inventory and materials management and distribution solutions. - actively assist various senior executives in supplier development, purchasing planning and development, business negotiations and strategic purchasing work. - use IT tools effectively in their work, e.g. using information technology to search for, compile and evaluate information as a basis for decisions in their work - carry out a procurement through the whole process, from requirement specification to contract - compile a requirement specification based on a purchasing need - prepare and conduct a business negotiation - interpret and draw up business contracts in the purchasing and transport field - contribute to decision making when choosing a supplier - contribute to decision making when outsourcing production After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to: - work with operational and tactical purchasing issues such as supplier assessments, material call-offs and preparing purchasing calculations. - actively assist various senior executives in supplier development, purchasing planning and development, strategic purchasing work and business negotiations. - work as a project manager - be able to work in project form and master methods for project planning and quality assurance - independently analyse and evaluate different purchasing and logistics solutions. - have a well-functioning ability to cooperate and a sufficient knowledge base to continuously develop within the field of competence - communicate in a way that meets the requirements placed on a person in a leading position - develop their creativity to think in new ways
