About the course.

Welcome to our two-day course in working with sustainability issues in municipalities, regions and government agencies. The course, which is aimed at officials in the public sector, gives you concrete methods and tools to create and implement sustainability strategies systematically, develop your role and make sustainability work permeate the whole organisation. We place great emphasis on how to create commitment and anchor the work with employees and decision makers.

Driving sustainability work in municipalities, regions and government agencies brings particular challenges. Not least the broad public mission with political governance in terms of office, and work in projects with short-term funding. Working long-term and giving individual initiatives enough time to have an effect, while leaving room and flexibility for political priorities, is a difficult balancing act. This course aims to develop your knowledge and ability to work with strategies, effective management systems, structures and goals, while you learn how to increase commitment and motivation and how to navigate problems that arise. All so that you become better at creating good results in your change work. During the course you will relate the content to your own challenges in various ways, so that you can directly see how to apply your new knowledge and insights in your work. How the course is built.

  1. How you can use systems thinking as a compass for sustainable development work

  2. Basic sustainability issues, adapted to the participants' level of knowledge.

  3. How a systematic way of working helps you effectively meet the demands of a complex organisation: prioritising, navigating and leading for better results while turning visions, goals/goal conflicts and action plans into practical daily work.

  4. How to engage both your own organisation and other community stakeholders.

  5. How you can lead change work, create motivation and use group dynamics to achieve better results.

  6. How to handle the interaction between elected representatives and officials

  7. A number of tools and methods you can use to succeed better in your work. These are reviewed in overview and you get to try applying a selection during the course. After the course you get access to further in-depth material via a link.
