The course has given the student: - Knowledge and an overview of the entire customs process and its application and significance - In-depth knowledge of the customs process and import and export customs clearance - Specialised knowledge of permits, licences and customs declarations - Specialised knowledge of goods classification and the Customs Tariff - Specialised knowledge of transit and storage - Specialised knowledge of applicable customs legislation and agreements - Specialised knowledge of customs value and origin management The course has given the student skills in: - Interpreting and assessing when different steps in the customs process should take place and when permits and licences must be applied for from different authorities, in their role as customs specialist - Interpreting and applying the Customs Tariff and the rules governing goods classification - Interpreting applicable laws and rules on transit, storage, special use, processing and returns - Interpreting and understanding applicable customs legislation, standard agreements and payment methods The course has given the student the competence to: - Independently assess and apply the rules governing goods classification - Independently interpret and apply applicable laws and rules - Use their customs knowledge to take part in strategic purchasing
