Description of the programme content Knowledge of: - Financial management, budgeting and costing from a transport economics perspective, the EU, and the regulations that govern cross-border transport, customs procedures, the supply chain and how your own work affects the other parts, the meaning of common management concepts such as LEAN, TOC, JIT and TQM, project methodology, collaboration and management, the four modes of transport and their characteristics, theories of transport economics, business English for the transport sector, environmental and quality issues and their importance for the transport industry, IT solutions used in the field, sales techniques. Skills to: - Analyse a company's financial status - Apply laws and regulations relevant to the transport sector - Analyse and map transport and supply chains - Apply management concepts such as LEAN, TOC, JIT and TQM - Communicate, collaborate in and lead projects - Handle conflicts and negotiate - Apply theories in the field of transport economics - Use English fluently, both in writing and orally, in daily work - Assess environmental impact in different transport situations - Use different IT solutions as support in daily work Competences to: - Work within a transport organisation with the aim of strengthening the organisation's competitiveness - Work with the transport supply chain, and analyse and streamline existing transport arrangements - Develop partners and partnerships with them in order to achieve a win-win situation - Negotiate and sign transport agreements with customers/suppliers - Run and work on development projects, both as a participant and as project manager
