After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge about/in 1. Data platforms and commonly used tools for collecting, adapting, storing and providing data 2. SQL: concepts, data types, data modelling, queries, security and tuning 3. Software development against databases 4. How to work in projects, in an agile way, and how to communicate with employers and clients 5. Data warehouses and their life cycle 6. Big data and cloud solutions 7. Data modelling 8. Continuous integration and release, devops and containers such as docker 9. Artificial intelligence and machine learning 10. Commonly used programming languages After completing the programme, the student shall have skills in 1. Automating data collection in programming languages commonly used in the industry 2. Integrating toolchains for continuous integration and release for data collection 3. Working with big data and cloud services 4. Managing databases using both SQL and nosql 5. Working in commonly used project management tools in software development 6. Programming with a focus on Python, and an overview of other programming languages such as Java and Scala 7. Programming data platforms, ETL pipelines and data integration tools 8. Being able to visualise data for different purposes such as Business Intelligence reporting After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to 1. Work with data platforms and develop software to automate data collection activities, and work with the toolchains that data collection requires 2. Work with SQL and nosql 3. Work in a team on the activities of the data engineer role according to commonly used project methodology and agile ways of working 4. Work with big data and cloud solutions
