Learning outcomes After completing the course, the student shall have knowledge of/in: 1. Principles of penetration testing and its role in IT security 2. Common attacks, threat landscapes and common vulnerabilities 3. Ethics and law related to security testing 4. Methods for information gathering and network mapping 5. Tools for vulnerability analysis and exploitation 6. Reporting and remediation proposals for discovered weaknesses After completing the course, the student shall have skills in: 7. Carrying out basic penetration tests in virtual environments 8. Using techniques such as reconnaissance, network scanning and vulnerability identification 9. Handling tools (for example Kali Linux and Metasploit) for practical attacks 10. Documenting discovered vulnerabilities and proposing suitable countermeasures 11. Carrying out tests in accordance with applicable laws and ethical guidelines 12. Working systematically with test planning and risk assessment After completing the course, the student shall have competences to: 13. Independently plan and carry out simpler penetration tests 14. Assess the security level and priority of discovered vulnerabilities 15. Integrate security thinking into development projects or operational environments 16. Communicate risks and recommendations to both technical staff and management 17. Support and improve the organisation's IT security work 18. Take responsibility for ethical and legal aspects in connection with testing
