Description of the programme content The course covers Building Information Modelling (BIM) and how it affects the design of projects, and how it differs from classic design with CAD. It also goes through BIM nomenclature and the importance of all parties in a project working according to the same BIM manual. The course will also identify different roles and how they interact with each other. The course then focuses on the design process and how to integrate BIM, what needs to be taken into account, different interfaces and which conditions must be met for a successful result. The course covers model coordination, clash detection, quantity take-off and data exchange. The course also covers how AI, generative design and parametric design can be used in BIM design. Finally, data deliveries at the different stages of the project and the different systems for them are covered. Description of the objectives the student has achieved After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge of - BIM nomenclature - Data, model and BIM coordination according to ITO, and clash detection - Review and change processes according to BEAst - Exchange format files ifc, bcf, dwg, rvt and others - How AI, generative design and parametric design can be used in BIM design - LOD (Level of Development/Detail) - OpenBIM and interoperability between different software - How BIM can be used to optimise sustainability aspects such as energy calculations, material choices and life cycle assessments (LCA) - AB/ABPU25 After completing the programme, the student shall have the skills to - Design & model in Revit, including object models, database management and the structure of the tools - Model, take off quantities and create drawings with the support of BIM - Carry out clash detection with Solibri - Carry out issue management with BIMcollab - Coordinate and analyse models and data - Carry out review processes in Revu according to BEAst After completing the programme, the student shall have the competences to - Independently model an architectural project using relevant software - With the support of relevant software, jointly review the different disciplines of the building project, evaluate the outcome and propose solutions to various problems
