After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge of/in 1. the function, structure and integration of railway technical installations, as well as the railway's actors and the cooperation between them. 2. instruments, equipment and tools commonly used in the industry for signalling maintenance work. 3. methods and governing documents for troubleshooting and fault repair on signalling installations. 4. routines and safety regulations for work on the track After completing the programme, the student shall have skills in 5. handling and using equipment and instruments as well as the most common assembly and crimping tools required for signalling maintenance work. 6. identifying relevant governing documents and, based on these, adjusting and maintaining the most common interlocking systems, level crossing protection systems, switch components and cable systems on the railway. 7. planning and carrying out troubleshooting and resourcing fault repair on the signalling installations in accordance with the regulations of Transportstyrelsen. 8. planning measures and communicating commitments in a businesslike way with relevant internal and external actors in Swedish and English. After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to 9. independently, based on applicable rules and standards, work in a risk-aware and crisis-preventive way with signalling on the track. 10. independently be present and work on the track and carry out traffic safety work in accordance with the regulations of Transportstyrelsen. 11. be responsible for and oversee the planning, execution and reporting of signalling maintenance work.
