Diagnosis Classification.

On completion of the programme, the student shall have knowledge of/in - the student shall have knowledge of the regulations governing diagnosis classification and DRG grouping, ethical issues that may arise in coding and the importance of impartiality and objectivity - knowledge of diagnosis classification such as main diagnoses and secondary diagnoses/primary and secondary classification in both outpatient and inpatient care - knowledge of the classification of care procedures - knowledge of the importance of classification for research and operations - specialised knowledge of the classification of care procedures (KVÅ) and of cost per patient (KPP). On completion of the programme, the student shall have skills in - the student shall have skills in classifying diagnoses - being able to code conditions and procedures correctly, based on patient records and assigned main and secondary diagnoses - being able to explain ethical perspectives in coding - being able to search for information about news and updates in ICD-10-SE. On completion of the programme, the student shall have the competence to - independently classify and code diagnoses and procedures in accordance with Socialstyrelsen's classification guidelines for outpatient and inpatient care according to ICD-10-SE, the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems - systematic list.
