After completing the programme, the student should have knowledge of - Specialised knowledge of theoretical and practical methods for CAD design in the professional role of CAD designer - Specialised knowledge of mechanical design in 3D CAD and PDM/PLM - Specialised knowledge of machining - Knowledge of choice of materials and surface treatments from an environmental perspective - Knowledge of dimensioning mechanical structures - Knowledge of work processes and quality criteria in theoretical and practical CAD design within the professional role of CAD designer - Knowledge of design planning and working in project form - Knowledge of production economics and financial profitability from a sustainability perspective - Knowledge of environment, quality and sustainable product development - Knowledge and an overview of adjacent professional and competence areas such as the environment and its regulations, product development and economics within the professional role of CAD designer After completing the programme, the student should have the skills to - Plan, carry out and identify resources for specialised tasks in CAD design, the product development process and planning within the professional role of CAD designer - Solve complex problems in CAD design, different types of calculations and project planning within the professional role of CAD designer - Communicate commitments and solutions regarding CAD design within the professional role of CAD designer in both Swedish and English - Skills in producing solid and surface models using advanced CAD tools - Skills in analysing and dimensioning machine designs and choosing materials, manufacturing and production methods for structural elements from an environmental and sustainability perspective - Skills in identifying sustainable technical solutions in different technical fields and technical improvements based on sustainable development After completing the programme, the student should have the competence to - Independently handle theoretical and practical CAD design in a way that leads to further learning and professional development in the professional role of CAD designer - Independently or in a group work on product development projects as a CAD designe
