Learning in the Workplace 1, Semester 2, 25 p.

The course takes place at a driving school and aims to give the student basic knowledge and experience of the profession and the driving instructor's tasks. During the course the student will get to know the work environment and gain an understanding of driving schools' road safety work. The course provides an opportunity to develop customer service skills. Under supervision, the student will learn how the lessons and performance of learner drivers are documented. The course will also give an idea of how a driving lesson is planned and carried out with regard to practice area, practice element and the element's goal. The course gives the theoretical parts of the program a practical application, training the student to plan and deliver teaching together with the supervisor. The student will acquire knowledge of how the educational activities are organized and understand the requirements set by customers, the public and authorities. The course will also develop the ability to discuss factors that affect individuals' driving style and attitude. Learning in the workplace 1 is carried out under the guidance of an appointed supervisor.
