The course gives you knowledge of data architecture as a tool for defining a plan for how an organisation's data assets should be managed according to a digitalisation strategy. You learn how data architecture is used to set strategic requirements for integrated data use, and through theory and practical exercises you develop specialised knowledge of how data is collected, transported, stored and queried in an organisation. You also learn the basics of building a relational database with SQL.
The course aims for the student to develop an in-depth understanding of how semantic information structures are defined in relation to the development of applications and IT systems.
