Course description SUB-QUALIFICATION 1: Financial analysis of different business choices and the financial planning of the business The learning focuses on how the business model and the operations are reflected in the financial accounts, and how owners and lenders assess the company's performance based on that information. This also includes understanding what it costs to finance the company's assets and what consequences this has for the company's financial targets. The key question is what profitability is required for the owners and lenders not to lose confidence in the business. SUB-QUALIFICATION 2: Designing management control The learning focuses on developing the ability to influence the design of different organisational control instruments. This includes learning how internal accounting and costing can be used to ease various goal conflicts, for example the prioritisation between volume growth and profit margin. The right design of internal reports and calculations makes it easier for employees and managers to make financially sustainable decisions in the business. SUB-QUALIFICATION 3: Designing a business case in connection with a business or organisational development project The learning focuses on giving participants, independently and in groups, the opportunity to create a financially substantiated business case for an external client in a business or organisational development project. The work includes making the project's impact goal concrete in terms of profitability and in operational terms, and evaluating the financial consequences and risks of possible solutions for the client. Scope: The course comprises about 400 hours, of which about 100 hours are teacher led. The remaining time includes time for self study (recommended time or more) and examinations.
