Self-care gives you specialised knowledge of the industry and the professional role, and the ability to search for information critically and on a scientific basis. You gain specialised knowledge of over-the-counter medicines, dosage, side effects and drug interactions. The course is given within TUC Yrkeshögskola's YH programme Pharmacy Technician and trains you to actively listen to and interact with customers in order to independently provide qualified self-care advice. You also learn to assess when a customer should be referred to a pharmacist or to healthcare.
