About the course.

The course aims to give the student knowledge of how to plan, develop and implement a data security policy, and how to establish correct procedures for protecting data and access to data. The goal is to give the student specialised knowledge of how to protect the information in a computer system. This includes both preventive measures and measures for detecting and dealing with unauthorised users of the computer system, as well as measures to protect the computer system against other risks such as loss of data in a hard drive crash. The student will develop skills in planning, creating and implementing data security policies that take technology, processes/routines and the human factor into account. The student will also develop skills in creating processes and routines with an appropriate balance between data security and usability for operational efficiency.
