Description of the programme's content and objectives After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge of/in 1. Specialised knowledge within the field of work and an overview of areas bordering on their own field of work 2. Knowledge of work processes and quality criteria within the field of work 3. Knowledge of planning and coordination in the dental care team 4. Knowledge of conditions in society that affect the oral health of children, young people and adults 5. Knowledge of relevant statutes 6. Knowledge of hygiene routines After completing the programme, the student shall have skills in 1. Planning, carrying out and identifying resources for specialised tasks within the field of work 2. Independently and together with the dental care team, identifying the patient's dental care needs 3. Identifying the need for, and carrying out, health-promoting and preventive work 4. Identifying method improvements and quality assurance 5. Applying their knowledge to handle different situations 6. Informing and teaching different groups in Swedish and in at least one foreign language 7. Solving complex problems and collaborating with others in the dental care team 8. Critically reviewing, assessing and using relevant information and discussing new facts, phenomena and issues with different target groups, thereby contributing to the development of the profession and the business 9. Assisting with dental treatments After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to 1. Ability to take responsibility, to evaluate and to act independently, and ability to work with content in an area related to the course content that leads on to further learning and professional development 2. Ability to monitor the work operations 3. Ability to complete assigned projects 4. Empathetic ability 5. Ability to take a professional approach towards patients, colleagues, authorities and other bodies 6. Insight into the need for further competence development
