Description of the program's content and goals After completing the program, the student has achieved these goals Knowledge of: - the properties of timber and how timber works in combination with other materials, in different weather conditions and climates. - building regulations and construction processes, with particular in-depth knowledge of rules for sizing and design in timber - modern building technology where timber is the main material - structural engineering for timber, concrete and steel with in-depth knowledge of timber - modern modular construction, both in the factory and on site - procurement, cost estimation and calculation - technical drawing, CAD, and drawings and drawing reading Skills to: - design multi-story buildings and load-bearing structures in timber - correctly size timber structures - produce and update technical documentation for timber in at least two languages - read and produce drawings with the support of CAD and other software - use and answer questions about regulations and construction techniques - search for up-to-date facts and research on construction, especially timber construction Skills to: - independently plan, carry out and design multi-story buildings and load-bearing structures in timber - act with expertise and responsibility when choosing materials, methods, construction and execution for quality assurance - work within the framework of applicable regulations and standards for materials and construction in general - responsibly lead and guide the various stakeholders of a timber construction project through the entire construction process - independently ensure their professional development by seeking out research and development for continued learning
