LIA1, 45 YH credits, is the first of two workplace-based LIA courses in TUC's YH programme for maintenance technicians. The knowledge from earlier courses is put into practice and deepened through hands-on work at a company. You take part in the tasks of the professional role, the company's culture and how people work together at the workplace, and under supervision you carry out work according to the company's routines and processes. After the course, you have gained experience of working with maintenance and can analyse the practical work.
The course aims to give the student practical training in providing care and nursing to individuals with cognitive illness in settings such as group homes or day care for people with dementia, geriatric wards or assessment units for diagnosing dementia. The goal of the course is to give the student the knowledge to work and provide care according to the established core values, from a salutogenic, situation-adapted and person-centred perspective.
