Leadership and Supervision, 15 YH credits, gives you the basics of why leadership matters and of different leadership styles, as well as methods and tools for developing your own leadership. You practise a coaching approach to develop employees in their professional roles and to safeguard the psychosocial work environment. Through practical exercises, you build your knowledge of giving and receiving feedback and handling difficult conversations and conflicts.

The aim of the course is to develop the student's ability to independently lead and develop a staff group in a food service operation. The course includes different change models and tools for handling the role of supervisor during change work in staff groups. Students will be well versed in, and have in-depth knowledge of, handling difficult conversations and giving constructive feedback for positive group development.
