Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology, 20 YH credits, gives you in-depth knowledge of regulations such as the F-gas Regulation (F-gasförordningen) and the Swedish Refrigerant Ordinance (Köldmediekungörelsen), as well as refrigeration technology, the components of the refrigeration circuit and the role of refrigeration and heat pump installations in the climate and energy systems of buildings. You gain advanced knowledge of sizing pipework and components, compressors, expansion valves and heat exchangers. The course prepares you for certification equivalent to Category II.
The aim of the course is to give students an understanding of the properties and applications of natural and synthetic refrigerants, the climate impact of refrigerants and their GWP value, and how components in refrigeration and heat pump systems are adapted to them. The goal of the course is to provide knowledge of adjacent systems in a refrigeration and heat pump installation, such as secondary coolants and heat transfer fluids, and to gain understanding and knowledge of energy storage, energy saving and energy efficiency in a refrigeration and heat pump system. Students will develop the ability to turn their detailed knowledge into systems thinking.

The F-gas Regulation, the Swedish Refrigerant Ordinance (Köldmediekungörelsen) and Svensk Kylnorm.
The refrigeration cycle and the Carnot cycle as a theoretical foundation.
Compressors, expansion valves and heat exchangers.
Sizing of pipework and components, and preparation for Category II certification.
The course suits future refrigeration and heat pump technicians as well as building operations technicians.
When you complete the course, TUC Yrkeshögskola issues your certificate. Your name, the course content and the issue date are encrypted and secured on blockchain, so it cannot be changed, and anyone can check that it is genuine.
