Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology, 20 YH credits, gives you in-depth knowledge of regulations such as the F-gas Regulation (F-gasförordningen) and the Swedish Refrigerant Ordinance (Köldmediekungörelsen), as well as refrigeration technology, the components of the refrigeration circuit and the role of refrigeration and heat pump installations in the climate and energy systems of buildings. You gain advanced knowledge of sizing pipework and components, compressors, expansion valves and heat exchangers. The course prepares you for certification equivalent to Category II.

Duration: 4 weeks
Location: Tranås
Language: Swedish
Level: Advanced
CSN-eligible

Time commitment: Full-time studies equivalent to 20 YH credits (about 4 weeks)

About the course.

The aim of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge of regulations and where they apply. The course gives students specialised knowledge of refrigeration technology and the components of the refrigeration circuit, as well as specialised knowledge of the refrigeration and heat pump installation and its possibilities within a building's climate and energy system. The course aims to provide knowledge of the F-gas Regulation (EU517/201), the Swedish Refrigerant Ordinance, Köldmediekungörelsen (SFS 2009:1605), the industry standard Svensk Kylnorm, the refrigeration cycle and the Carnot cycle. After completing the course, students have advanced knowledge of selecting and sizing pipework and components, controlling the refrigeration circuit, different compressors (technology and properties), different expansion valves (technology and properties), different heat exchangers (technology and properties) and other refrigeration components. The goal of the course is for students to acquire the theoretical knowledge required to pass certification equivalent to Category II.
