object-oriented-programming IOT20
Object-oriented programming Scope: 25 YH credits Course content The purpose of the course is for the student to gain the knowledge and ability to use algorithms and data structures such as linked lists, stacks, queues and trees to find efficient solutions to programming problems. In the course the student studies analysis, structural design and implementation of practical and efficient algorithms and data structures for this purpose. The goal of the course is that the student will be able to develop, implement and adapt data structures and algorithms for a given situation within IoT. The student should also be able to independently adapt practical algorithms and data structures to solve and implement given problems correctly and efficiently. In addition, the student should be able to describe the concepts of abstract data type, recursion and complexity. The student should also be able to use techniques for algorithm design on discrete problems and assess the suitability of data structures and algorithms for different types of problems. The course provides knowledge of... - Programming architecture - Software development tools - System design and data models - Functional programming within object-oriented programming - Producing simpler OOAD - Agile development methods, such as Scrum, Kanban and Wideband Delphi/Planning - Test-driven development (TDD) - Rapid prototyping - Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python and Java. The course provides skills in... - Building both functional and object-oriented code - Programming and producing architectures for applications in the IoT field - Using software development tools in object-oriented programming. The course provides competence to... - Choose the most suitable programming language for the best result based on the situation and needs in object-oriented programming. Grading criteria The grade Fail (IG) is given if the student has not met all the criteria for Pass. For the grade Pass (G) the student must: - Have a basic understanding of producing simpler OOAD - With good understanding be able to build both functional and object-oriented code - With good understanding be able to program and produce architectures for applications - Have a good understanding of how to choose the most suitable programming language - Have a basic understanding of agile development methods - Have a basic understanding of test-driven development (TDD) and Rapid For the grade Pass with Distinction (VG) the student must: - With very good understanding and methodically be able to build both functional and object-oriented code - With very good understanding and methodically be able to program and produce architectures for applications - Be able to show with confidence how to choose the most suitable programming language. - Be able to develop independently according to instructions in the chosen programming language. - With good understanding be able to show how agile development methods affect
