Communication and Business Acumen, 15 YH credits, aims to develop and strengthen your social skills and your understanding of the importance of communication in your future professional role. You gain knowledge of the importance of a businesslike approach in all customer relationships, and how communication can affect the outcome of a business situation. The course also gives knowledge of contracts that are important to know about, including in IT security work.

The purpose of the course is to give students an understanding that the role of customs specialist can also involve an advisory role and the role of consultant. Students also gain knowledge of upselling and the offers that can be made to create new business. The aim of the course is also to gain knowledge of an SOP flow, or process map.
