Commercial Law, 35 YH credits.
In the course the student learns the legal rules that govern financial transactions and dealings in the role of accounting economist. The course covers central parts of commercial law and how legal rules are applied in financial contexts. The course covers the theoretical foundations of the legal system and how legal sources are used to interpret and apply laws. The course also covers legal issues relating to companies, how solutions can be assessed in terms of reasonableness, benefit and consequences, and how proposed solutions can be developed. The course should provide the knowledge required in the profession of accounting economist to apply legal rules in practical situations. After completing the course, the student should be able to apply legal rules and analyse legal issues related to financial transactions in the professional role of accounting economist.
