Programme description PART QUALIFICATION 1*: The project's business challenge and business opportunity The learning focuses on understanding, analysing and evaluating business challenges, customer needs and business opportunities based on the company's current situation. The purpose is to train the ability to set the right direction for the business development efforts a company needs. PART QUALIFICATION 2*: The value proposition and business testing The learning aims to develop the ability to independently identify, formulate, test and evaluate commercially sustainable solutions that best match the organisation's capability and the customer's needs. The learning also focuses on gathering market information that is used to formulate and carry out tests and evaluations of possible value propositions. PART QUALIFICATION 3: Testing feasibility The learning focuses on developing the skill of testing whether a prototype business model, including the go-to-market plan, is feasible for the organisation with regard to business benefit and risk for stakeholders. The learning also focuses on training the skill of presenting and discussing solutions orally and in writing in dialogue with various decision makers and stakeholders. PART QUALIFICATION 4: Independent business development project Part qualification 4 is credited from previous studies. In this project, the participant works in a group with others for five months to develop their competence in independently leading a business development project for an external client who needs to deal with a current business challenge. At the outset, the assignment and circumstances are undefined, and the participants need to explore the client's business challenge and define the project's direction and scope. In the subsequent planning and execution phases of the project, the participants get the opportunity to test and strengthen their ability to handle the complexity that arises in a real business development project. Scope: The programme comprises approximately 270 hours, of which approximately 55 hours are instructor-led. The remaining time includes time for self-study (recommended time or more) and examinations.
