Supervision in Social Work.

Description of the programme's content: After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge of/in: - the Work Environment Act and employment law - laws and ordinances in social work - specialised knowledge of supervision, sustainable leadership and leadership styles - communication and coaching - difficult conversations, conflict management and discrimination in working life - basic economic principles, budgeting techniques and the ability to analyse and manage a budget - specialised knowledge of scheduling to create and manage schedules for staff and resources - specialised knowledge of documentation and record keeping in the role of supervisor in social work - specialised knowledge of marketing communication and marketing in social work, including target group analysis, market research and marketing strategies, and the planning and execution of marketing activities. After completing the programme, the student shall have skills in: - applying sustainable supervision based on current laws and regulations - recruiting and onboarding employees - creating and following a budget, monitoring expenses and making adjustments when needed - creating and managing schedules that use resources effectively in line with the organisation's goals - documenting and recording information in a legally secure way - building and maintaining relationships with other organisations, authorities and stakeholders in social work to create opportunities for collaboration and raise awareness of the operation - communicating in different digital channels with messages adapted to the target group After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to: - independently supervise and develop staff in social work - organise and prioritise tasks and resources to achieve the organisation's goals - develop and implement strategies for marketing the operation Description of the goals the student has achieved: Supervision in Social Work, 20 yhp In the course the student learns about employment law based on current employment laws and ordinances. The student learns methods and tools for supervision in social work and thereby develops sustainable and effective leadership. The course also covers recruiting and onboarding employees. After completing the course, the student shall be able to supervise and develop staff in their professional role.
