Course description MODULE 1*: The business challenge and business opportunity facing the project The learning focuses on understanding, analysing and evaluating business challenges, customer needs and business opportunities based on the company's current situation. The aim is to develop the ability to set the right direction for the business development efforts that a company needs. MODULE 2*: Value proposition and review of assumptions The learning aims to develop the ability to independently identify, formulate, test and evaluate commercially viable solutions that best match the organisation's capability and the customers' needs. The learning journey also involves market research for defining, testing and assessing possible value propositions. MODULE 3: Testing feasibility The learning focuses on developing the ability to test whether the business model prototype, including the go-to-market plan, is a commercially viable solution for the company regarding the estimated business value and the risks involved for the stakeholders. The learning journey consists of training the ability to describe and discuss a business case orally and in writing in dialogue with various decision-makers and stakeholders. MODULE 4: Independent business development project Module 4 are accounted from previous studies. In this project, the students work independently in a group for five month to lead an assignment on behalf of an external client who has to deal with a current business challenge. Initially, the assignment is undefined, and the students have to elaborate on the scope and mission of the business development project. In the project's later planning and implementation phases, the students can test and strengthen their ability to handle the complexity of a real-world assignment in business development. Scope: The course covers approximately 270 hours, of which about 55 hours are teacher-led. The remainder includes time for private study (recommended time or more) and examinations.
